about us

Headlight Anthology is a print literary journal started by Joshua Knelman. We publish poetry, short fiction, and visual art. Canada’s mainstay writer and publisher, Rob McLennan, cites Headlight as one of “the rare student publications [he follows] regularly.”

We put out one issue per year and operate out of Concordia University’s graduate English Literature department, the students of which compose its staff. Although we strive to highlight Concordia’s ample literary talent, we also publish writers from the wider Montreal community. In its two decades of publication, Headlight has featured both established and emerging writers.

Concordia University is located on unceded indigenous lands. We encourage you to read Concordia’s full territorial acknowledgement, as well as its history and rationale, here.

We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of the Concordia University Alumni Association, Department of English, Student Association for Graduates in English, Graduate Students Association, and Office of the Dean (Faculty of Arts and Science).
