Graham Krenz is an artist originally from Calgary, now living in Montréal. Primarily working in sculpture and relief, his work is a reflection of the alienating features common to all major cities. Themes of loneliness, the coldness and enormity of infrastructure, and more intimate depictions of personal and autobiographical moments are all used as ways of creating touchstones for people who choose to live in these places. Wood is often the medium of choice, thanks to a childhood spent with craftspeople and woodworkers. It’s an island of organic material and texture in an increasingly uniform world of concrete and glass. www.grahamkrenz.com, IG @grahamokay
